I recently purchased a new SSD drive for use with my computer. The drive was a drive that came with my computer that was going to be thrown out, but was still functional. I haven''t used it on the computer, but I''ve plugged it into a different computer to see if it would work. The drive seemed to work fine, so I''m optimistic that it will work for my purposes.
Two days ago I used the Rufus application from the ISO file build to install my SSD drive on the computer (I have a computer with an Intel IGPU and an AMD gpu). Everything was going fine, but it all seemed to crash at the end when I got to the log on screen. I restarted, and attempted to log into my account again. Everything loads fine. After I log on, the system seems to lock up, and after a few minutes, the screen goes completely black, and the computer restarts. If I boot in to Windows XP only, it works fine. If I boot in to Windows 7, it crashes at the same time. I have a windows 7 ultimate I installed on the SSD drive, so I don''t know what is happening since I can''t try to switch back and forth between OS :-/
I forgot the link for rufus 2.0.5, but when you are installing it first, you choose the location and drive letter and then you are asked for "...wipe drive and install the Living CD". Then, when you are at the start screen, click "erase everything" while it is loading and it will top booting. In the section where it asks for the language, just ignore the rest of the options and don''t wipe the install and it should work.
